It doesn't seem to be the case, as the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtQGu_6tErs) clearly shows it running in Sailfish OS.

XperiFirm is not Windows-only. It is, however, developed using .NET, so you need to have mono installed to run it.

Well, at this point we can't be sure of anything. Maybe it'll be like the Xperia E and Firefox OS (a ROM to be manually flashed), maybe not. I can only hope they make it easy for me to get a Xperia X...
