I'd say media-sharing would be on top of my list.
It's nice to see who's online/offline and have it sync all your contacts.
But the need to quickly share a picture or song is what makes WhatsApp so...

A quick update.
I replaced Kubuntu 12.04 with the regular Ubuntu 12.04 (omap armhf).
Still using unknown's 2.6.37-n900 kernel, kubuntu integration deb and the fixes/workarounds from the install.sh...

I placed the meego rescue zImage and initrd into /boot and created a bootmenu.item for it in /etc/bootmenu.d/ (I can post this if anyones interested)

I think you need also need to boot the updated zImage kernel image.
The kernel image contains some extra symbols for dvb-support.
Try this on your N900:
