Re: Fremantle custom builds for 2022

No.

Easy Debian is a chroot, which means it runs on top of the Maemo host system, using the same kernel.
This is also the reason why it isn't and can't be a modern Debian. This is Debian Jessie,...

Re: Fremantle custom builds for 2022

I'm not sure f I could contribute anything here.
I consider myself an advanced Debian user and a lot of that transfers well to Maemo. But I was never an actual advanced Maemo user.

That being...

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing

Sorry for the delay! Of course a year later my memory is kind of blurry, but I remember multiple attempts of trying to backport a (then) recent(ish) libssl. But either the backport failed or it...

Aren't you the one who should be able to tell?
I mean, are you aware of any "Ruotsi-ottelu" ad-blocker? ;)

Don't let yourself be discouraged by the limitations of your equipment!*

His picture shows a beautiful knife in nice...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

That article is ridiculous on so many levels!
Instead of writing it, the author should have better spent his time riding his bike.

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

Just a hint:
If you have the choice, always photograph a bicycle from the right side, because that's the interesting side due to the drive train!
That's especially true if you photograph a bicycle...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

The entries of Koiruus and kinggo totally got me, because they remind me very much of my old MTB days.
Especially Koiruus's story of randomly disappearing trails brings back old memories. But in the...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

I once read an article(?) about a guy who decades ago tried to build an unrideable bicycle. I believe this also included an inverted steering, but he got the "best" result when constructing a frame...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

After (causing) so much babbling, I guess I should make an on-topic contribution too.
So here's a photo of my folding bike from a recent tour. It was approximately one hour before dusk on a very...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

That depends on how you approach it.
If you only do it once a year, like it's customary in my region on Father's day [1], the seriousness lies more in getting home safely despite being drunk, rather...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

A bicycle saddle is like a good suit. It has to fit your body - or in this case your behind - like a 2nd skin. If it does, there's no need for any cushioning at all.
On a good saddle your weight is...

Re: Need Help: N900 Buttons Felling Off

That depends on how it's packaged.
About 20 years ago my father bought some 2 component glue that came in two separate bottles, each holding about 100ml. Both bottles are about half-way done and...

Re: Camera phone competition November 2019: bicycle

Well, that's quite different from what I'd consider a bicycle.
In Germany that would be considered a "Mofa" [1] (Motorfahrrad = motor bicycle) - due to changes in legal classifications an almost...

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

Indeed, I'm surrounded by a lot of metal and concrete. I'm living in a "Plattenbau".
The rent is cheap and the location is good though, so I won't move out. ;)

Unfortunately I can't find the...

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

Thanks! Now I can ping public IPs and access Websites from the PC.
I seem to have a lot of interference here though. Whenever I try to transmit data via gprs, my DSL internet connection seems to...

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

@Halftux:
Thanks for your efforts with the btpan app! Unfortunately it doesn't change my outcome.

In Debian I have the packages installed and the N900 is paired with my PC. Then I run btpan on...

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

I've never done anything bluetooth-related, except for the DUN tethering years ago.

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

I did that and rebooted the phone.

bnet0 is up and dhclient is trying to obtain an IP adress, but it can't get any from the N900.

Frankly, I'm about to give up here. Networking is really not my...

Re: N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

Sort of. The 1st half of the article is about pairing, which I had already done.
In the 2nd half pppconfig didn't make any sense to me though. Most of the ncurses dialogues didnt seem to be about...

N900 bluetooth tethering with Debian PC in 2019?

I want to use my N900's mobile data plan on my computer(s) running Debian Buster.

On Debian I use Xfce with nm-applet (network-manager-gnome), where I successfully set up a "mobile...

Re: Suggestions on an N900 replacement?

I've recently augmented (not replaced) my N900 with a GPD Micro PC.
It replaces my EEE 901.

Once released, the Pyra will have a modem (same as Neo900 was supposed to have) and EvilDragon once...
