Re: OOOH! Ubuntu on Android... (Apologies if this is a repost)

Not sure what you mean by boot a PC to Ubuntu. Like use the N900 like a bootable flash drive?

What Canonical is doing is making it possible to run Ubuntu off an Android phone (at least from the...

Re: The Epic Android Thread

I think Google has started doing that already, if not they are starting with ICS (there was an agreement made a while back though I think it only applies for new phones). Don't know when it's exactly...

Re: The Epic Android Thread

Nexus Prime for me. Even with the other ICS phones scheduled for release they are still going to have skins and go through two or three companies for updates. For example, if I have a T-Mobile brand...

Re: The Epic Android Thread

My upgrade from T-Mobile is available. So I'm waiting on the Nexus Prime to see if I want to buy it unlocked or just get the Galaxy S2.

Re: Apple keynote - iPhone 4S announced

It'll recover when Apple announces their earnings. But this tends to happen with Apple stock for product announcements because of over-hype.

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Wow. I never met him but from interacting with him from e-mail and the forums he sounded like an awesome guy. Always had interesting projects too that I enjoyed using. May he rest in peace.

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!

Because he was here when it was still called InternetTabletTalk.

Still haven't decided if I want to buy Nokia stock. Was going buy some Apple stock but it seems it didn't drop that much after...

Re: What makes people want WP7?

The appealing thing about WP7 is its XBOX LIVE, Zune, and Windows integration. Which is great if you use those services. The only problem with the LIVE integration I've seen so far is it doesn't seem...

Re: The Epic Android Thread

What do you guys think between the HTC Sensation or Samsung Galaxy S II? Though I'm sticking with T-Mobile.

Re: Apple iPad 2

Wait for a jailbreak hack to come out (only a matter of time) and jailbreak it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks more appealing to the Xoom to me.

I'm going for an HTC Pyramid.

Re: Apple iPad 2

Yup this is why I hate some Apple fanboys (not fans). The iPad2 is awesome because it has a dual core A9 processor (that Apple modifies and calls their A5) but so does most other Android tablets...

Re: Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)

Yeah HTC isn't pushing the hardware front as much as Samsung and Motorola (or even LG). But at least you can hack them pretty easily compared to Motorola (locked bootloader) and Samsung (well.. no...

Re: Goodbye Meego, goodbye Nokia

As of now, no. Not sure if anyone will now since Nokia was pretty much the main company pushing that front. Intel was more targeting the UMPC, tablet, netbook, etc.. front.

Re: elop's first responsibilty is to his shareholders, not us

Haha Google, RIM, and HP should all consider hiring them. Then turn around and finish off Nokia and ensure the Windows Phone 7 never reaches the level that Android and IOS have or will reach.

Re: MeeGo is "the Biggest Joke In the Tech Industry Right Now"

Perhaps he meant Harmattan/Meego? Though I doubt he would get that specific.

Re: For your next smartphone, will you choose N9 or switch to an Android phone / iPhone ?

Haha I never said I would use the N900 forever. The N900 will be semi-retired once I find a dual core Android smartphone I am comfortable with (e.g. HTC.. dunno what LG's record is with bootloaders...

Re: Psp ngp

3D gaming depends entirely on the game. I've watched my friend play Civilization 5 on his 3D TV, and while it was cool it was largely pointless. But other demos I've seen from PS3 games make good use...

Re: For your next smartphone, will you choose N9 or switch to an Android phone / iPhone ?

In the end it depends on what you wanted the N900 for. I have a feeling for most people the N900 wasn't the right choice if they were looking for an Android or IOS experience. I for one have plans on...

Re: A way to copy all contacts from Maemo 5 to Android (Desire Z, 2.2)?

Hmm, export from the contacts interface of the N900. Upload to Google. Then sign in with the same Google account on the HTC Desire Z to sync them.

Re: For your next smartphone, will you choose N9 or switch to an Android phone / iPhone ?

Probably better than a N900 with extras-devel stuff installed (couple of my friends have rooted Android phones while my uncles have jailbreaked iPhones). I think that has more to do with how they...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] FastSMSEvo: system virtual keyboard T9/Qwerty

If I may make a suggestion: I would do a left alignment for the donate link to PayPal and also put it in your signature (with a link to this thread). As it is, it took me awhile to visually find the...
