Three things that I didn't think I'd use...

I bought my N900 mainly as a replacement for my aging N810. The N810 was wonderful at first, but as the web evolved over the years, the N810 wasn't able to keep up with the new Javascript-heavy sites...

Re: Web browser oddity with reddit.com

Bug posted. I would appreciate if you would vote for it here:

It's really easy to sign up for an account, BTW.

Re: A-list applications for N900 - what do you recommend?

Nobody's mentioned "Flashlight applet" so far. It is far superior to liqtorch. As far as I can tell liqtorch just makes the screen white, while the flashlight applet actually turns on the camera...

Re: N900 alternative boot video (maemo.org one)

I really like the "bright" video, but I don't want to have my N900 playing any sounds on startup, so I made a silent version with no audio track. In case anyone else wants a silent video, this...

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)

Got my credit card charge from mobilecityonline. The US$689.94 was charged as CDN$750.37. Then there was $97.26 duties/taxes on top of that. So ordering from mobilecityonline ends up costing just...

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)

My N900 has arrived, and I also paid taxes on it. The taxes came to CDN$97.26. When the credit card charges show up, I'll post a final total price, including everything, in CDN$.

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)

Perhaps we could put up a wiki page somewhere for places to purchase the N900 in Canada?

Re: A special thank-you for the developers of Tear

@bunanson: From what I understand, different versions of the web-kit library have different levels of acid test compliance, due to the software being under active development. At this point, it's...

Re: A special thank-you for the developers of Tear

@YoDude: sorry about the poor instructions that I wrote. Now that I've given them a second look, it's clear how difficult they would be to follow. I'm normally pretty good at writing directions; I...

A special thank-you for the developers of Tear

About a year and a half ago, I purchased my N810. I think that the first web-site that I opened was reddit.com, still my favorite news site. It loaded quickly and displayed perfectly. Needless to...

Re: Installing Encyclopedia???

I can confirm the Amdahl's Law bug. Do you want issues to be logged to the Google Code site, or should all issue reports be redirected into the bit bucket? :)

Replug: Magsafe for headphones

There's an accessory called "Replug (http://www.replug.com/)" that allows your headphones to disconnect if they're yanked on, kind of like Apple's mag-safe connector. I started thinking about this...

Re: Font Problem in Wesnoth

A smooth, stable version with working music? I would love that. Until then, I'll try out the font fix and see how it goes.

Update: I've made the font fix and it works great. Wesnoth is now fully...

Re: What woud you realistically like to see in the N900?

Arcturus: I also wished for a hardware scrolling key on my n810, and if you want one badly enough, there is something that you can try...

Favorite short videos to watch on tablet

This is only tangentially related to Internet Tablets, so I apologise if this is considered too far off topic. I often watch videos with MPlayer on my N810. Sometimes they're whole shows, but often...

Re: Tablet Alternative Chargers

Update on my charger search. I picked up this solar charger (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4799) from DealExtreme. It has a 2000 mAh battery, which should be enough to fully charge the...

Re: is bluetooth keyboard

I can't speak for the iGo bluetooth specifically, but I did recently buy a MSI BK100 keyboard from deal extreme. I have found that typing is somewhat laggy, not enough that I get missed or repeated...

Re: N810 Tips and Tricks

I was playing around with changing the background image on my new N810, and I eventually figured something out that may be non-obvious to other noobs (or maybe I'm just dumb). To get a right-click...
