Batteries drain in 12 hours

My n900 began to drain its battery in very short periods.
I got a new Nokia battery, but the same happens.

Htop shows nothing remarkable other than 90+% of the CPU being taken up by fsck.

I have been moved to 12 hour shifts, & I notice that Qalendar has an issue with events that span over midnight.

For example, if I try to schedule an event from 1800 hours to 0600 hours, Qalendar...

I have cssu-devel enabled, & when I type "upstart" in "all" applications to download in HAM, nothing appears.

Headphones with four contact rings did not work; headphones with three contact rings did work. Thanks for you help!

Odd, since I only used the jack a few times before getting my bluetooth headphones.

Edit:
dmesg is showing the headphones connecting & disconnecting at the correct state.

The headphone icon does not appear in the status bar.

Sound continues to come from the speakers, & does not come from the headphones.
