Re: Pure Maps

Has anybody seen this the following? I'm trying to install Pure Maps but it barks because it wants mapbox QML bindings (expected), but when I try with the latter, it barks some more:

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

It's pretty common for package managers to make a hard dependency on the OS major version at times. Some programs needn't do this (e.g., Tidings has been unreleased for a long time and yet it...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Just to give you a bit more context: each piece of software will probably have dependencies and certain requirements (like syscall availability and such), hence each OS/distribution will package such...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

For completeness, it all seems to be working. I missed offline maps/navigation/search in sfos 3.4 :)

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

True - I'm tempted to create a local OBS, if I ever find something to guide me to do that.

OK, this is hard to do while all my maps are updating - all I can say is that I am getting a warning...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

This is kind of working, and making slow progress as I'm honestly playing around with this :) I do appreciate a bit more why we need OBS and updated targets for the community.

Quick question...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Sure, already up, and upped CPU's too. No reason to leave defaults when there is processing power available :)

I've been using qtcreator for now - will investigate mb2 as I prefer the CLI.

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Perhaps something that has been asked/documented/explained in the past, but I cannot find it relatively easily: how feasible is to build OSM Scout Server for SFOS with their SDK? Is it a matter of...

Re: Pure Maps

Apologies if this has been mentioned before (TMO's search feature is a bit basic) - I imported a GPX file and followed it successfully from beginning to end, then on the way back I tried to reverse...

On Xperia X, worked fine. Tested a little bit all that you mentioned, but didn't actually go out and navigate.

Re: Pure Maps

It works :) Didn't test much though besides osm scout/mapbox map rendering (a strange place called Patient End in England, odd name).

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

I made sure I zoomed in a place that I've never been before (or at least in the last n years). Pure Maps does get significantly slower when it's pulling from osm scout server so you can tell when...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Installs, map manager works, check for updates works, Pure Maps reads maps (doing very basic scrolling). Let me know if you want me to test something more specific. I'm on SFOS 3.3.0.16.

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

You mean in /usr/share/harbour-osmscout-server/lib/ ? The lib that couldn't be referenced (libboost_filesystem) is not there, but I can see the -mt version.

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Just the plan version (not mt). Basically, I ldd'd the binary and ln'd the only lib that was "not found".

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Hi, folks,

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, so apologies if it's been discussed already. osmscout-server comes linked to the SFOS provided libboost_filesystem 1.51.0 - this is ok. ...

lol - in fairness Skype has better video/sound quality than other applications so maybe they compress more? It'd be so much easier if everybody used something a bit more open...

Re: Jolla C

Same symptom on the Jolla Tabet fwiw, but other arguably similar applications that do the same thing don't cause it to overheat.
