Re: XMPP messaging in Maemo 5
Re. 1, probably the server requires TLSv1.x (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) which AFAIK maemo never supported.
Re. 3, use apt-get. apt came later :)
No idea about 2.
(and sudo gainroot gives you root, so...

Re: Sailfish OS flashing files
If you mean 3.4.0.24 for Jolla1, then I have the one with ext4 (so you can forget about the issues with btrfs).

Re: Maemo-Leste pre-alpha announcement
Hmm.. after all these years I suddenly had the urge to check what the status was with the N900...
I'm now running Leste and I have to say I'm seriously impressed by what I'm seeing. Finally a true...

Re: Sailfish OS flashing files
I just noted that the flashing files have been updated to 3.4.0.24.
I'm now updating the Jolla via OTA, and supposedly when it fails booting I will have to "fastboot flash boot boot.ext4.img"

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900
I don't think anybody knows. In case you're wondering about the money, please note that AFAIR they were officially considered "donations" and not some sort of advance payment or such.
The Neo900...

Re: musl libc + zlib pro-tip
Good to read you again! :)
Why musl? it is just because of the space?
Every time I see something compiled with musl (e.g. alpine linux) there's something not quite right or just plain wrong..

Is there a procedure for updating, via fastboot (whenever a new version is released here), while preserving the data?

I just did the same (got my jolla 1 back from daughter, who used it for a few years :). Worked like a charm!
Now I have to get up to speed with Jolla/Sailfish again :)

Neo900 was a good dream, and will remain a...

Re: root full connman bug SFOS 3.0.2.8
OK, in the end I didn't take with me, but if wasn't necessary. I just looked and lots of WLANs (precisely: 30) have appeared, each with the 3x24-byte files.
I guess you'd need lots (~ 7E6) of seen...

I'm not sure the Jolla would crash when doing that (unless it fills up all space, that is).
I've just cleaned up the Jolla according to my snippet above. I'll take it with me this afternoon where...

Re: root full connman bug SFOS 3.0.2.8
Just checked with my daughters Jolla (3.0.2.8 Oulanka), and had only about 2M. Apparently for each SSID seen (not necessarily connected) 3 files are stored (history.home.{day,hour,month}, but they...
