Re: 0xFFFF - Open Free Fiasco Firmware Flasher

I don't think 0xFFFF supports N9 flashing.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

The form-factor is sick. If it had a small front-facing display for clock and caller info, it'd be perfect.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

The whole point is to reuse N900's hardware.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Apologies for off topic stuff

I find it highly unlikely.* Have you diff'd /proc/mounts contents before and after attaching a drive?

* That would require rewriting all of the tagret FSes instead...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

That's a keypad. Orders of magnitude simpler than what Neo900 team is doing.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

IIRC in N900 /etc/mtab (what `mount` lists) is not a symlink to /proc/mounts and can be unreliable. Specifically, when kernel notices the corruption of fs and remounts it read-only, /etc/mtab will...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

The foremost cause of lags on N900 is the swapping. Having 4 times as RAM as N900 will eliminate that. The rest is software, having a faster CPU will get diminishing returns of smoothness.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

It is actually an interesting suggestion, since USB 2.0 is supported by Type C. The question is, when will it be available?

Why fremantle? It's OS's name, node device's (the latter is Rover, AFAIK).

Re: [Pre-Pre-Pre Announce]Black Aluminium replacement body & backcover for N900

To give up camera cover and backstand? What for, similarity to Lumia?
Also two Nokia logos seems redundant.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Ubifs compresses files.
Since content of /var/lib/dpkg/info is text files, which are easily compressible, I don't think it's needed to be optified.
In my case, 30 MB of files in /var/lib/dpkg/info...

Re: [Announce] fkdep - commandline script to fake dependencies

Hey, check your pull requests.

Nothing interesting. dpkg -i removes real package and replaces it with fake one. Or I didn't understand you.

Re: [Announce] Enhanced BusyBox package

I already thought about that, but dpkg -b passes --format=gnu parameter to tar, which busybox's one doesn't know. So you have to either install gnu-tar or binutils (for ar), or package something else...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Oh, I forgot that to obtain vdq you have to charge it with USB. Oops!
Anyway, if you are using two different batteries, you can't have correct readings for bof of them.
