Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

Well, I posted it here: https://together.jolla.com/questions/
I hope someone will see and fix it.

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

Ok, thanks!
That's a bug, that should be a value between 0 to 1 (https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL_TouchFingerEvent), not an absolute value. Any idea where that should be reported?

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

That's very interesting. I guess it's a bug with Sailfish? Because this works on Windows, Linux and Android just fine.

Can you check if it gets SDL_FINGERMOTION or SDL_FINGERDOWN events? It's...

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

Thank you!

I don't have a device that can run Sailfish on, which is why I wanted to know if it is worth getting one. I used to have a N900, and it was easier to develop for it.

Anyway, I have...

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

I wonder if there is any option to make it not do that. I wish I could find a nice SDK with well documented APIs for Sailfish.

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

That sucks.
Was it at least full screen, with the right dimensions (window not being cut)?
When it started, was it in landscape mode?

If there are issues with SDL in landscape mode, I guess...

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

Thanks a lot!

Can you please try to put #define __ANDROID__ somewhere at the very beginning, and just comment out the lines like:

#ifdef __ANDROID__

Re: Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to decide if it's worth it to get a second hand phone, like a Xiaomi mi4 to play with.

Do you, by any chance, care to give this a try?...

Do SDL apps work on Sailfish without modifications?

If I have a SDL2 app, full screen, that uses no library (other than SDL2), can I just compile/link it and it will run?

Re: Sailfish API for camera

That kind of sucks. Tizen has some good documentation, but there are no ports on other phones, and I can't even buy a Samsung Z4 phone here (plus, I heard they are locked down, so no sideloading?).

Re: Sailfish API for camera

Thanks, but I meant a place where I can find an actual API, with functions on how to init the camera, set the ISO, focus, and so on, preferably with some examples as well.

GL4ES (OpenGL 'emulator')

Has anyone tried GL4ES to port OpenGL games on Sailfish?
It's a very nice library, you can find it here: https://github.com/ptitSeb/gl4es

I used it to port Eternal Lands...

Sailfish API for camera

I'm thinking of doing some development for Sailfish, and I might buy a Xiaomi or Oneplus compatible device.

One of my ideas is to make a programmable camera app, where you can run scripts and such...

Re: Made a switch to Android..

I tried to use Ubuntu on Android. It worked fine with the finger, given 5" size. Worked fine as in the click was fairly accurate.

Re: Made a switch to Android..

I never had the N900 last for more than a day with GSM off, wifi on, skype and some voip stuff on. My Samsung will last for 2 days of standby AND moderate use. Granted, it has a bigger battery and a...

Re: Made a switch to Android..

I am sure the Note would be worth the money IF I needed a phone. But I work from home, and most of the time (say, 99%) I am in the range of a wifi network. The GSM reception at my place is very poor,...

Re: Made a switch to Android..

The number of applications has to do with android. Even if the N900 had the same specs, you still couldn't do a lot of things because of the software.

I decided to get a Samsung Galaxy Player 5". This is just a tablet, no phone hardware, so I still use the N900 as my phone.

Here are some opinions and observations.
Advantages of Android (on the...

Are they seriously expect people to pay 666 Euro for those boards?

It should be OK, although the batteries will have less juice at that temperature.

I can't believe I see so many "omfg I am so sad" or "he was a visionary/revolutionary" posts.

I mean, sure, he changed some things, for example popularizing big smartphones and tablets, but he...
