In EU, VAT is added to the VAT-free price. If the price including VAT is 399,00 €, then VAT-free price is 399,00 € / 1,24 = 321,77 € and VAT is 399,00 € - 321,77 € = 77,23 € (= 24 % x 321,77 €).
