I fetched the contacts from Gajim. It is almost sorted by names by now. Which is great. But, unfortunately, even if I find a contact by name and write to him messages are not received. :(

Ok, I succeeded in adding FB contacts...but, there are no names and avatars, only numbers@jabber.no-sense.net.

I can confirm that it is possible to chat with Android users via Google IM on N900 and Google...
