Re: [Council] Q2 2014 Community Council Election Announcement

Late to the party but garage accounts were always == maemo.org == wiki accounts. (At least since 2009, I wasn't here before that) so yeah, nothing to worry about.

Re: Nominations for Council election Q2 2014

I'm honored to be nominated especially from Win7Mac but I recently have very limited time and as you can see my involvement here and on IRC has diminished during the last months.

Thus I will not...

Re: Idea: get wanters of dirkvl's qwerty other Half and ask about assemble it one of hardware hackers

I think the language barrier has caused a misunderstanding. sHaggY_caT is trying to crowdfund another batch of keyboards by someone who might be interested if he sees there is potential, by re-using...

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

True, timenow does not alter any settings regarding automatic lock. It just fakes powerbutton presses when you uncover the proximity sensor.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Isn't everything in fremantle already both arm and i386? Though there might be a problem if it uses a PowerVR graphics chip since there are no FOSS or even binary i386 drivers.

Re: [WIP] Building OtherHalf keyboard prototype --finalizing 3D model and detailing

I haven't seen the Neo900 project fret too much about keyboard domesheet. Either they found where to source the part or haven't yet realized there's an availability issue. Either way contacting them...

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

Proximityd is not part of timenow, it's the same proximity daemon that powers shortcutd, timenow just depends on it.

Re: Nokia 206: Privacy killer message: Is it illegal?

Hi and welcome!

At least in your case it shows a warning, in our (N900) it sent automatically unless you first booted without a sim card and removed the program. And it charges you too for sharing...

Re: Overzealous suspend everything watchdog [workaround included]

that issue is completely unrelated, I didn't mean to present it as a sideffect. It had happened to me once again days before I started playing with standbydedness.

BTW battery life is not bad...

I very much want to say keep the Jolla, but the above quote pretty much closes that opportunity for me.

With the right workarounds and some patience I believe the Jolla will become an awesome...

Re: Porting Sailfish to N9 (or other)

echo 0 > /sys/devices/omapdss/display0/lpm

now you need an app that shows the time when lpm is on, and set the screen to keep alive when locked, and disable lpm when double-tapped :P

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

Ok, but in two steps. First I will push a fix with only the permissions issue, so that I don't annoy the users any more with bugs, and then remove dependancy on rootsh with a nice big warning to save...

Re: [Announce - #MCCXII] Timenow: Proximity enabled lock screen

Happy to hear that the permission solved it. I'm not sure if the execute bit is enough for owner, as it is run as root, so I'd advise to just chmod +x /opt/timenowd/bin/powerbutton

For...
