In a sense that is Nokia's way of saying that with the transition from MeeGo to Tizen, they are officially leaving the boat an refocusing their Linux know-how on Meltemi development.

Doesn't mean anything, Nokia shows lots of different colors for their phones that are never released, or are released later, as a manuever to bring relevance to older models, like the pink N8.

Before, the strategy was to make S60 go down the spectrum and replace S40, while Maemo/MeeGo whould take...

In fact, this discussion is pointless. A good quantity of apps is good, in a way that "ecosystem" have "critical mass" (more developers supporting it, more likely to have all the needed good apps...

The upcoming folders feature will fix it, since you can group your "favorites" app all together. As for widgets, I bet most of such apps can display the needed info in the notifications/updates view...

What bothers me the most is that the WP7 will have a better hardware, because of the mandatory chipset from the WP7 spec sheet.

Yeah, WP7 needs Snapdragon, so it just have the N9 case, it will be a different beast inside.

It implies that the proper disrupting devices are still to come (N9 is not one of them) but it doesn't imply that those other disrupting devices will run MeeGo.

Some people here in the forum are saying it have Nova 3,5 mm AV out. It would output at the native phone resolution, I guess.

There's a small transparent notification box that will popup in the lower part of the screen. Never used S^3, but by the screens, it seems similar.

The answer is simpler than that: MeeGo is not the focus, so they don't want to focus too much energy on this. The MeeGo/Harmattan team is lucky to still exists, so Nokia is not betting too much cards...

The funny thing is to see people complaning that N9 will lack support... on the MAEMO forum! Same place where the N900 when released was considered experimental, with almost no support, and everybody...
