Re: [Announce] BackupMenu - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 9th(v1.1)

Is the kernel-power version you're installing the same as on the backup image? If not then you'll be missing the correct modules and a reboot loop would be a likely result.

Re: How to install dictionaries for QStarDict ?

Both MStarDict and QStarDict use standard stardict format dictionaries. Unfortunately most/all of the original sites containing these have gone/been taken offline, but you can search online for any...

Re: Council election

I think you need to look at the ARM tree within the kernel. Getting things working for one specific ARM processor will get not get you very far at all with the next one. Unlike the x86 world, there's...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Testing

You'll need the modules to be able to actually boot with KP49, but you're probably okay without the settings.

Re: U-Boot for Nokia RX-51 with BootMenu

I think you need to add:
ITEM_CMDLINE="root=${EXT_CARD}p6"

or wherever the Nemo partition is.

Re: U-Boot for Nokia RX-51 with BootMenu

All I had to pass in was the normal root=/dev/mmcblk0pX argument to tell it which partition to boot to.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Yes, I've just tried this and the only feeds in the reader after a reflash are the two default ones (a couple of twitter feeds). The feed I'd added manually prior to the reflash was gone (as I'd...

Re: can't install some apps(or update)

libqtm12 is the latest version of the Qt mobility libraries. These are libraries for accessing location, orientation, etc. information in Qt programs. Previous releases provided the different...

Re: the effect of smartreflex on N900 battery usage

OC should save power on high-load time-independent processes. If it can complete the process in a shorter time, then it can switch back to a lower power mode quicker. Playing a video is...

Re: CloudGPS dead

It's working fine for me. Have you tried removing the /home/user/.cloudgps/config.ini file? Otherwise, try running it from the command line & post the output (or check the main cloudgps thread to see...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

I do find this very difficult to believe, but I have a spare N900 so will give this a try myself.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

There's absolutely no way that CSSU has any effect on what's seen after flashing. If you reflashed both eMMC and firmware then the OS will have access to exactly the same data whether it's running...

Re: Thanks button disappeared

The "Thanks" button isn't present (by design) in some of the forums (Off-Topic, for one). I'm not sure why it's not appearing on every post in this thread though.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

If you flashed both eMMC and firmware then there definitely shouldn't be any feeds (or anything else) left. If you just reflashed the firmware then I'd expect all the feeds to remain, as they're...

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

I think the issue is that a number of developers have stopped development on the N900 as soon as they got an N9/N950. While the N950 may be a reasonable replacement for the N900, the N9 (which is all...

Re: How can I solve this problem ? ?? Who could teach me ...

Yep, that'd do it - you reset the permissions on everything under /usr/bin, stripping off the SUID bit from sudo (and various others). I'd definitely suggest a reflash at this point (and avoiding...

Re: How can I solve this problem ? ?? Who could teach me ...

If you have ssh installed & setup for root access, then you should be able to get on via that and reset the suid bit on /usr/bin/sudo. You could also try using "su" - I think you'll need to have set...

Re: [Announce] NEW Backupmenu-multiboot and new multiboot 0.2.11 ( update )

You need to install them via dpkg/apt-get on the command line - App Manager refuses to install these packages as they're not tagged as user packages.

Re: [HELP] Mail for Exchange: how to open local PST files

Certainly not with MfE anyway. That can only talk to Exchange servers via the MfE protocol, it has no knowledge whatsoever of Microsoft's various PST file formats.

There do look to be some...

Re: [WIP] CloudGPS 0.4.8 - smoothest maps for N900

I don't think so, no. The only way to actually use libqtm-11 or libqtm-12 seems to be to either set a run-time library path in the application, or to override the LD_LIBRARY_PATH in a startup script....

Re: [WIP] CloudGPS 0.4.8 - smoothest maps for N900

Well, there shouldn't be any real differences. The only patch added is to add a signal for updating the media library.

It definitely is down to this though - running...

Re: Paying Developers to build "Words With Friends" for the Nokia n900

It's a closed-source application, so cannot be ported by anyone other than Zynga (and there's no way they'll waste their time writing an N900 version). Writing an open-source equivalent won't work...

Re: [WIP] CloudGPS 0.4.8 - smoothest maps for N900

I've got that installed (as well as libqtm-12), but ldd shows that cloudgps is actually linking against the library from libqtm-location.
