Re: New installed Android apps don't get homescreen icon (XA2)

Pardon for maybe thread hijacking, but how is the XA2 as a daily driver right now? I'm on Xperia X / SailfishX, but old Android is blocking too many useful things. Wondering if XA2 is too raw to...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Yep, can confirm, been there done that. Figured it out randomly on the go as desperation started to set in :)

Unhappy Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Not to take this thread offtopic much, but it's a well known quirk that if you dont keep wifi enabled on FP2 and instead use the internet over 3/4G instead, your battery life is easily in several...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I'm not buying it in advance anymore, and I have everything from the past: N800 - ... - FP2/Sailfish

I think it's at least 75/25 that a solid Xperia port will emerge, but "when", whether Xperia X...

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

How do you check which FP firmware versions you have underneath? I can't remember anymore from when I flashed.

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

Did you manage to update yet? I've also fallen behind a bit. Maybe just have to alter the $RELEASE variable shown in the wiki, and re-run `sed`.

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

I'm getting superbly better battery life on 2.0.2.48 when I turn wifi off. Everything going over 4G doesn't seem to bother the phone at all, so it must be going to sleep properly. Not so much with...

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

Hop on #fairphone-sailfish.

You will need to enable a couple of mal-'s personal repos, which you can find from either irclogs of the channel or by asking him.

In general the process follows...

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

Yeah, I confirm everything above. Just flashed FP2 OTA to 2.0.2.48 thanks to mal-, and all is mostly good for daily work. But have to admit I also carry the Jolla 1 around for Android functionality,...

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

I'm recharging the FP2 every 2-3 days on average, with moderate usage at best (very few calls, occasionaly web browsing, photos, e-mail, etc).

Jolla 1 battery clearly lasted longer with similar...

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

mal said on irc that the latest image still had uncomfortable bugs, so that's why no public release available.

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

Indeed, this was just posted on https://forum.fairphone.com/t/sailfish-2-0-1-11-fp2/18794/9

But no update instructions anywhere? Built-in update definitely doesn't Just Work(tm)

Re: Sailfish OS on Fairphone 2

I've been running SFOS on FP2 for a few months now as daily work phone. Majority of it really works with no issues, and like Feathers said, the speed of operation is a world ahead of Jolla....

Re: SailfishOS 2.0 on Nexus 5

I ordered the FP2 in mid-Jan, received it in mid-Feb.

Installed SFOS2 on it a few nights ago, and it's fantastic.

Re: Jolla phone successor

SFOS and Jolla hardware is not ready for this level of adoption yet. Once you see how quickly everything moves on iOS, they simply will not put up with Jolla. We are on the new platform because we...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

Not the best idea to have that always staring back, when most conversations are pretty soon all in a "ongoing" status where suggesting "Hi name" is pretty much useless.

* incoming call in the middle of music stops music... and then nothing. no resume,...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

Whatever the current state of Sailfish today, it can only get better. Harmattan - can only get worse.

So I don't worry about it. But I'm a patient man. After all, I waited out a real Linux based...

Oh yeah, the "alarm display is off by 1 hr" is real. Good thing the alarm goes off at the right time anyway.

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

It should be possible via database export / import perhaps. After all, I think Harmattan people used quite sensible tools for implementation.
