Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Thanks for the announce pali.

I have some additional notes:

The new version is now able to load the calibration data, therefore it might give different results for the signal strength and range...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Yeah, as long as you can modify the kernel config and can compile out-of-tree kernel modules (compat-wireless) it should be possible, but it will most likely never work with the stock kernel itself.

Re: [Maemo 5] FAS (FRuMMaGe Aircrack Script)

It should be 1 (Ethernet) for managed/ad-hoc interfaces and 803 (IEEE 802.11 + Radiotap) for monitor interfaces.

Re: [Maemo 5] FAS (FRuMMaGe Aircrack Script)

You can also check the device's link encapsulation.
/sys/class/net/<device>/type would be 803 (IEEE 802.11 + radiotap) for monitor interfaces.
This should be at least true for all mac80211-based...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Yeah, this is also related to mac80211 changes. Sometime ago the noise value got deprecated.

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Thank you for this multiboot howto. I guess that won't be necessary as any new power kernel version should incorporate the small needed change (I hope at least as I haven't got a reply from Titan...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Sorry I am not so familiar with all the different attack modes of aireplay-ng. I have never tested the fragmentation attack myself, so I can't really help right now. I am going to look into this. Do...

Everyone who donated should now have received the download link. If someone hasn't received it yet, please tell me.
I will be a bit more unresponsive in the next few days, but I still try to send...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

I haven't seen this problem before. My /etc/sudoers.d/hildon-input-method-configurator.sudoers also contains exactly the same. Maybe the problem doesn't lie in this file directly. Have you checked...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

No sorry, I don't have a bank account in Brazil.

Hmm, I thought you only would run into that problem if you update to another firmware version. Like I have written in the readme, you would...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Thank you for your donation.
I am going to look into the ad-hoc problem soon.
AP mode may be possible to implement, I will add that to my todo list. We are not really stuck at 2.6.28 wifi stack....

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

I have already asked Titan to compile cfg80211 as module (the only change in the custom power kernel), so most likely a custom power-kernel will not be necessary in the future.
I am planning to...

Re: [Announce] Kismet + Fully functional WLAN monitor mode for the N900

Sorry that I couldn't release the driver before Christmas. Sadly I run into another bug with current wireless-testing.

A little bit more in detail:
The problem had to do with 4-byte TX buffer...

Re: [Announce] Kismet + Fully functional WLAN monitor mode for the N900

First I haven't developed a new driver. It is still the normal wl1251 driver included within the Linux kernel. Like most of the Linux kernel, also the wl1251 driver is written in C.

Of course,...

Re: [Announce] Kismet + Fully functional WLAN monitor mode for the N900

The easiest way would be to remove the kismet_ui.conf.
The UI/Client configuration files are located in /home/user/.kismet or /root/.kismet (if running as root)
Afterwards you only need to run...
