Re: N900 Made in Finland purchased on Ebay, Isīt Original?

I somehow managed to read that you were talking about the last two digits..sorry...7th and 8th digits used to indicate the location of the device's construction until 2002, but today the type...

Re: N900 Made in Finland purchased on Ebay, Isīt Original?

As far as I know first batches were manufactured in Finland, the last number in IMEI is the check digit and the second last is part of the serial number and its not too uncommon for pixels to die or...

Re: starting microb browser without the bookmarks window

I took a fast look at browser-switchboard's source code and it looks like it replaces microb's dbus service and uses maemo-invoker to open microb when needed.

Something like this might work, if...

Re: starting microb browser without the bookmarks window

In that case I'm starting to run out of ideas, but you could try to use xdotool (http://maemo.org/packages/view/xdotool/) to bring the bookmark window on foreground and click alt+f4.

ID=`xdotool...

Re: starting microb browser without the bookmarks window

Then you are probably going to have to make a script which selects the correct window with it's window identity to avoid closing every single one of them. You can get the list of open windows with...

Re: starting microb browser without the bookmarks window

I don't have a N900, but you could try something like this with wmctrl (http://maemo.org/packages/view/wmctrl/) to make the application think its being closed from the useri nterface:
wmctrl -c Web

Re: [Release] Nokia Pure

I couldn't find Harmattan's Nokia Pure package anywhere so I decided to upgrade my N950 to PR1.2 with catastrophic results (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85025) which took me some time to...

Sorry for taking this long answer, I have been very busy lately (moved to new apartment and I have a lot other things going on), but I'll try to update it tomorrow.

Re: How Many Will Keep their N900 until it dies

I have used the N950 for almost a year now and I have to say that N900 is better in many ways. Anyhow I'm planning to use my N950 for as long as it works and buy a N900 after that, if anyone hasn't...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Wlan Driver Selector Applet - Switch easily between stock and bleeding edge drivers and shut down WLAN complitely [0.2.2 in extras]

I updated the new drivers to my server, so it should download the new ones, if you delete the old ones with file manager :)

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Wlan Driver Selector Applet - Switch easily between stock and bleeding edge drivers and shut down WLAN complitely [0.2.2 in extras]

Hmm, the applet probably starts up before wlan gets disabled, so it shows wrong status :/

To fix it, you could add this line:
commands.getoutput('sudo /sbin/unload-drivers.sh')
after this...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Wlan Driver Selector Applet - Switch easily between stock and bleeding edge drivers and shut down WLAN complitely [0.2.2 in extras]

Quickest way would probably be to add something like this:
start on started hildon-desktop

respawn

script
exec /sbin/unload-drivers.sh
end script
to:
/etc/event.d/disable-wlan

Re: URGENT DEADLINE:How to backup N900 when Screen wont turn on!

Does the touchscreen work? If it works you could try to click the pc suite button blindly.

Here is a image of the screen:

Or use the TV out.

Re: [Maemo 5] Just saw a osso-calculator by Pali

Open the project and click the play button?

I prefer to use scratchbox:
git clone git://gitorious.org/community-ssu/osso-calculator.git && cd osso-calculator && dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

Re: N950 - first impressions?

The VKB is maybe little bit more usable than N900's, but not good. The sliding mechanism is good at least in my opinion, but because it tilts its slower than n900's.

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I decided to make a deb of it. I have no idea, if it works because I don't have N900 currently. According to feedback it works without issues when installed with dpkg.

Debug symbols were too big...
