Wow, arrow keys keys now work in Messaging app while typing SMS! Of course a custom VKB with arrow keys is need too.

That's alone is enough reason to install Power Pack on my primary N9, I think....

I think the reason is that the views are actually completely different using also different text edit components.

The new message view is plain sheet page likely using the standard QTextEdit...

That is only partially correct. The secondary microphone is really used for noise cancellation in normal (earpiece) mode. However, the noise cancellation is also used (if enabled) in loudspeaker...
