Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!
There is no money in Nokia shares. Unless you are short, everyone lost holding NOK shares.
NOK closed at $2.89 at the NYSE today, down another 5% from yesterday. Down after they presented their...

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!
Well, I and some analysts beg to differ (not that I give a lot about other analysts, but I give a lot about my own opinion :D).
This is what Andy Perkins (Societe Generale) writes:
"We...

Re: For Lumiaman - 101 Reasons Not to Buy WP7.5
This list is hard to believe. I played with a Lumia and did not find the phone interesting, just nothing for me.
But I was not aware that WP7 is that bad. Incredible.
Kein, thanks for posting...

Re: Nokia N9 discontinued today in Finland
Volt, after using the N900 for well over 2 years I finally gave in and got the N9. Definitely an expensive device, and not an N900. But very pleasing and beautiful. I already found some quirks, like...

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!
Good news of the day: Nokia's shares stabilized today, the stocks did not decline any further.
(Rumors say that the fact that the stock exchanges were closed today, Saturday, were a major...

Re: Nokia ends phone assembly in Europe
You are absolutely right with sub-contractors and cost. However, there is another cost that needs to part of the equation: Brand value.
Maybe 15 years or so ago, Philips was one of the largest TV...

Nokia ends phone assembly in Europe
Hardly surprising, sad anyway, Another European "manufacturer" leaves Europe for good and assembles phones solely in Asia.
For me it is just another reason to see Nokia as what is it, a large...

Re: HP says bye bye to WEebOS hardware
Now that would resolve Nokia's problems in a minute. Nokia back in business and RIM dead immediately.
Who chimes in to buy a one way ticket for Elop from Finland to Canada? I'm in for $100!

It's really hard to see what this means, but I give it a shot:
Android: Will stay #1 platform for mobile devices for years to come, however there will be increased tensions and search for...

Re: Nokia shares dive after sales warning
Ericsson, your posts are refreshingly optimistic (or hellofalot naive).
Here is how it went:
Nokia’s share price is on a downward trajectory since fall 2007.
Finally (way too late) the...

Re: Elops oh s**t moment for Meego
There is no contest that Nokia's execution was piss-poor, at least since 2007.
That was the reason why they brought on a new CEO.
The new CEO managed to destroy an additional 40% of Nokia's...

Re: N900 For sale- U.S.
So, exactly what are you selling? The phone that fell to the ground? No backdoor? Do you include the keyboard? What about the mainboard? Or is it just the screen protector attached to what exactly?

Re: Elops oh s**t moment for Meego
The problem for Nokia is that the U.S. trend shown in the graph is increasingly true globally. Except the fact that Symbian was at the top coming down fast and Windows mobile irrelevant anyway.

Deja vu - Nokia's WP strategy and its merits have been discussed on many forums previously - including tmo. What's changed is that we got Elop's PR piece in business week, and Nokia's profit warning...

I'm not going into the merits of Ahonen's blog, and I admit that I do know little about the Japanese market. One thing I know is that they use a particular definition to describe "smart-phones" as...
