Re: [Announce] Mosh (Mobile Shell) - enhanced SSH client

I quickly put these together a few days ago for Fremantle: http://wnd.katei.fi/tmp/mosh/ . As the URL suggests, this isn't a polished package but it Works For Me(mt).

Other dependencies can be...

Re: maemo-invoker, maemo-launcher

I think it's normal. Most if not all applications that come with the system are started by a combination of maemo-invoker and maemo-launcher. This allows the system to launch those applications...

Re: [solved]Real time parsing/substitution with sed?

I feel so dumb. I somehow read this as "substitution doesn't work in real time". My mistake.

Re: ext3 on microSD help??

I haven't had any real-life issues with partitions created by any sane applications, but I've seen sfdisk reporting issues with partitions created by other applications. I don't really know why, but...

Re: Real time parsing/substitution with sed?

This doesn't have anything to do with sed. sed cannot edit your data if it doesn't get it. Instead, this has everything to do with output buffering. Try the following to commands (also without pipe...

I'm not sure if I follow. Maybe you're after this:

Re: charging problem

I'm new to N900 myself, but from the experience I've had with N810, I wonder if this has something to do with an aging battery. "Not charging" doesn't sound familiar but reboots do. See what...

Re: What are the N900 essentials?

I suppose I could disable WLAN for a few days and see if it changes anything. I don't consider myself a heavy user; I mainly use the "smart phone" features to get notification about email, IM...

What are the N900 essentials?

What are considered the N900 essentials? How have you customised your N900 for maximum battery life, performance, usability and/or personalisation? What (packages) do you consider N900 essentials...

Re: good news, the N810 is milk proof.

Oh, let me add that N810 is also fat free milk proof.

Lets start with a few facts. I always (and I mean always) carry my trusty backbag with me. I'm always carrying number of items I may (or...

Re: Who's still around and interested in N800/N810?

What originally interested me the most in Qt 4.6 was its native graphics backend (X11/Xvideo) as opposed to raster backend in Qt 4.5. However, I don't know and haven't checked whether Diablo's X...

Re: Who's still around and interested in N800/N810?

As long as I can find the time, yes I am. I'd love to have Qt 4.7 running (nicely) on N810.

Re: Who's still around and interested in N800/N810?

Did you try to include Maemo patches from Qt 4.5? I tried to merge to patches to Qt 4.6 quite some time ago, but I never got too far because of lack of time and motivation.

Did you have to...

Question Re: DT trouble

This is as vague as a problem report can be, so here goes nothing. I've been running the SD kernel on my N810 since the first version with working WPA2 version with little trouble. Today, however,...

Re: DIABLOTURBO comes back, with a vengeance!

Sounds fair.

WPA2 stops working as soon as I reload cx3110x. It doesn't matter whether I use the old or the new module. At first I thought this was a reinitialisation issue so I replaced the...

Re: DIABLOTURBO comes back, with a vengeance!

That is correct. WPA2-PSK works for me with the latest sd-preempt-256 (and stock kernel, obviously).

Re: DIABLOTURBO comes back, with a vengeance!

Looks good. This seems to fix both WLAN and mouse event issues. Also, battely applet is no longer redrawn with a delay. I'm going to run this kernel for time being.

Re: DIABLOTURBO comes back, with a vengeance!

Well, O1 is (named) pre-emptive so... IIRC, mouse event problem went away -- or in fact, wasn't present -- with O1-preemptnovermagic and cfs (that is, without further "extensions"). Note that I don't...

Re: DIABLOTURBO comes back, with a vengeance!

I now have O1-preemptnovermagic, cfs, cfs-preemptnovermagic and sd-preemptnovermagic, all with 128 Hz timer plus cfs-cgroup-preemptnovermagic with 256 Hz timer as mentioned before. Since I couldn't...

First of all, I can't go into these things in more detail right now so you'll have to do with this quick reply.

I just installed and uninstalled cfs-ugroup-preemptnovermagic-256. Some extremely hasty and pessimistic observations. I think I'll try other configurations later; tonight I'm going to need a working...

I think it's worth mentioning that Config Editor comes in package called gconf-editor, installable through Application manager.

You can also set the update interval with gconftool-2 (which is...
