Re: Jaaksi leaves?
This is really a moot point for in-car navigation. What you need is for the GPS to be assisted by accelerometers, speed sensors etc so it works accurately in all conditions (parking houses, tunnels,...

Re: Jaaksi leaves?
No no no. The whole point is that Nokia never intended the N900 to be anything but a device for the enthusiast. What has happened is they have sold tons of the N900, and most probably have sold them...

Re: Windows Phone 7: what a joke
From a geek perspective you are somewhat right, but also wrong. The Broadcom GPU of the Symbian^3 devices is faster than anything else out there, both in 3D/2D and for video and for still pictures....

Re: Jaaksi leaves?
OK, bad example, but I think you got it. The point is that you are ultimately responsible for your own purchases, it is not Nokias responsibility that you purchase a N900 when you want a Galaxy S.

Re: Jaaksi leaves?
The only people who new that up front were those that are a bit more enthusiast than the average person. The ads were, and still is, sort of misleading by not saying what the N900 really is, but they...

Re: How Long is N9 ?
Loosers so far: WebOS, Windows Mobile (the old one), PalmOS, UIQ (not a real OS, but still), various Linux based OS'es. Maemo5 (suicide), Maemo6 - aka - MeeGo-Harmattan (to be born only to...

Re: Jaaksi leaves?
OS - no one really cares except geeks. That's a fact. I don't care either, as long as it is Symbian or Maemo/MeeGo :)
As for who is in charge of what in Nokia, THAT I really don't care about....

Re: Meego 1.1 RC?
MeeGo, for netbooks at least, is 100% open source. I have asked a direct question, and I got a direct answer to that question. The MeeGo team will not release any software that is not open source, no...

Re: Meego 1.1 RC?
Do you know this? or are you speculating? If this is true, then the N9 (the first MeeGo device presumably) makes no sense at all. MeeGo makes no sense, and Maemo makes no sense. Makes no sense to me...

Re: Something missing from current mobile OS's
I find Maemo5 much better than OS2008. The multitasking and homescreen in Meamo5, is exactly how things should be. It may look as though MeeGo will be ven better, but it is so limited right now, that...

Re: N8 has begun SHIPPING!
N8, E7, C7, C6-01 will outsell all androids and iPhones together many times over, except maybe for SE X10 mini and X8. Even the 5800 has sold more units than any other touch screen phone.
Nokia...

Re: Goodbye N900. Hello N8!
It is you that are clinging to the past. Symbian^3 is not equal to older versions of the OS. Besides, Linux is a much older technology being a reverse engineered hack of Unix, an OS made for servers...

Re: Goodbye N900. Hello N8!
Well yes. The 5800 is two years old, and still receives updates. Now it has full kinetic scrolling and talk navigation amongst other things. It is also the touch screen phone that is sold in most...

Re: Nokia is the McDonalds of Phones
I don't think you will be the one to "save" Nokia then :) The N8, E7, C6-01 and C7-00 will do that. Take a look at them. Good old Nokia is back for sure :D And these phones have 20+ days standby time...

Re: Nokia is the McDonalds of Phones
Are you people blind or something. The solution is here, N8, E7, Symbian^3, and soon (a couple of months maybe) two more phones with Symbian^3.
Forget about MeeGo as a "savior" for Nokia. On...
