I wouldn't recommend doing this, since it will drain your battery like mad should you stay connected to a wlan for a longer period of time.

The easier solution is to install mpc and use the commandline backend.
So once installed you setup the connection details for your mpd server, and then it's just a matter of calling "mpc play" "mpc...
