As I understand it the version number is:
Year . Week - Build

So 2010.12-9 would be the 9th build in Week 12 of 2010.

That is how, I believe, you can narrow it down to a week.

it does appear that the version on the website is an older version than that preinstalled on the HK N900s.

So gotta hope that no one in HK needs to reflash their N900 anytime...

And it was leaked just after the HK release was made. However we don't know what the intentions of the leaker are. They could have seen the HK release and changed the version number to match to make...

Well duh, it's pretty obvious that it originated from Nokia at some point, but this build is over 4 weeks old. No one knows where it's been and it's perfectly reasonable that someone may have slipped...
