I was thinking about letting the user select a default snooze time from a list such as

5 min,
10 min,
15 min,
Custom

Prehaps a number of snooze repeats as well!

Im currently writing one in Qt at the moment. Im planing on having the following features built in:

1) Alarm/snooze function
2) Play alarm sound
3) Play a chosen MP3
4) Play a chose internet...

You see this is one of the nice things about open development, we can have our cake and eat it. App design really fits into two main camps (stop me if I am wrong).

1) I see maemo (QT, GTK, etc)...

Agreed, I think UI app development comes down to experience of the developer and how long they want to spend writing it. If a users experience is properly taken into consideration then the app should...

I use astaro firewall, which is free for home use (up to 50 internal ip addresses). This has allowed me to setup site-to-site vpn's between my friends who use astaro and also a remote vpn connection....
