thx for the reply.
i followed all the steps the way it is. i have all the wav files. i get no error actually. it just doesnt play any sound. i have the power kernel actually. is that a problem?

I copied the sound files and ran the command "for f in *; do mv $f $f.wav; done" the folder english_male

but the files were not converted to wav
and i dont have any voice guidance

remove the patched mouse drivers. check ur app man. if u remove bt hid scripts, it wont remove the driver. so check app man and uninstall it.

download and install filebox. mount the ntfs drive as such

sudo gainroot
mount -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /media/flash
Go to file box. navigate to /media/flash and you will see the files.

those drivers are for x86 and not exactly for armel (the cpu on n900) so it may not work. if the drivers are open source, some one can compile it for the arm cpu and it may work. so far there is...

go to your app man and install "enhanced kernel for power users"
make sure its from devel repo. it should be version 45

install bluetooth hid scripts from appman. then connect ur mouse in lowspeed mode and enumerate. go to xterm and type

u dont have to flash the device atall. ur only flashing kernel. it will not change any files or data etc. what you have to do is copy android system files to memory card, flash a new kernel which...

well one reason i can think of is, RD mode disables watchdog service, a service which reboots ur phone when it detects something has crashed. watchdog will reboot the device when u try to boot...

it changes the nice value by default.
