I'm still using the N900 as my main phone. Reinforced the USB port back when early reports of it failing were emerging and it's given me no trouble.

If you're not technically literate enough to do it the 'hard' way I suggest you install Patience from extras-lifetools and it will eventually provide a solution.

I'll admit, I was being facetious in the last post and I apologise for that.

What I did was contact Apple (sjobs@apple.com), I explained that I was a huge fan and that OSX would work really well...

I just installed an iPhone in my N900, it was much easier.

Now I have a dual boot system for the price of an iPhone, an N900 and a roll of tape. I'll never need another phone.
