Since these phones are running essentially what is Linux, any techniques malicious people may use on Linux can be used on your phone too. Trojans, rootkits both userland and kernel, etc...

Somewhere in this thread are the binaries I'm running, and instructions on where to copy them. Keep in mind the copy and paste issue that some people had while copying the INI file stuff though...

It does this for me too. On the latest thumb CSSU. I stopped using it and restored an old version of my status applet config file.
Probably this app should be considered broken I guess.

Probably the only exploit vector you would worry about would be DHCP. The other vectors are unlikely to affect your n900, such as cgi scripts, restricted ssh shells, etc...
