Re: BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition - first ubuntu phone announced

Lets face it, SailfishOS isn't ready for mainstream, so it would be plain dumb to go for mass production with a big partner.

It can mature in it's small niche it got right now.

Re: Jolla tablet countup to delivery[Now With Poll]

I thought the only thing special for the early contributors is the relatively cheap upgrade to 64GB.... which I jumped on.

Wish I bought the Lastu case though. That's the one thing I'll probably...

Re: BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition - first ubuntu phone announced

I agree on this point. Some premium is OK for software features you are keen on having, but other than that, the harware is pretty much standardized.

Sailfish 2.0 will pretty much be Sailfish...

low end, high end, it really doesn't matter, you don't get much support for either of them simply because mantra is that they are all to cheap and if you are not happy/something doesn't work, there...

Re: BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition - first ubuntu phone announced

Scopes, or what is behind scopes looks fairly interesting to me. They've got two types of scope. One is what looks like a boring web app but the aggregator scopes are the interesting ones as they're...

Re: BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition - first ubuntu phone announced

I kind of agree. This can work beautifully and transparently for users, and the Nokia maemo/meego devices were heading in this direction I think:

Chat/instant messaging is handled centrally by an...

I just came across this thread and wanted to chime in.
I'm the main developer of the (yes, yes, unofficial) ownCloud client for SailfishOS.
The client has been on the Jolla store for some time now...

Re: Jolla 2 expectations

For me, Jolla equals TOH. Without TOH, it looks like any other slate phone - especially if Sailfish OS is install-able on it.

Thank you. Best wishes.

I think this thread has been derailed enough so I created a new one (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=94525) to continue this discussion. Please leave this one to talking about graphic tablets.

Re: Use [strikeout]jPad[/strikeout] Jolla Tablet as a graphic tablet with stylus

Now correct me if I am wrong here, but I think there are several different kinds of resistive-feedback-type touch screens.

I have been told that the type used in N900 is one of the good ones, that...

Re: Jolla tablet countup to delivery

Hmm. Being that it's a tablet and not a phone means that (a) it's less expensive, and (b) it's available in the US; which for me, means that it's the first Jolla device I can get. I'm sorry to see...
