"Clarify"? If anything, it muddies the waters even more. So, what is the answer? Is Sailfish now controlled by FSB or not? The TJC quote did not fill me with confidence at all.

The idea is: shift/fn on the back of the device just as L1/R1 keys on a game...

Exactly. It adds more complexity on hardware. At least 4 additional mouldings in this qwerty phone compare with normal phone (Screen enclosures, keyboard top, keypad, and bottom, plus sliding frame)...
