When you just "delete" a file, it is moved to the trash. When your phone is connected over USB, it is moved to a trash volume on the phone itself. So no space is actually freed until the trash is...

Thank you. I have followed your instructions, then used the text editor to open the file /etc/hosts to verify that the code is present.......and it is.

I have never used copy and paste on the N9....
