Well I can't speak for Sulu but, in a nutshell, this is how I do it (under Debian Squeeze):
sudo mkdir -pv /mnt/somewhere
sudo mount -v debian-something.img.extX /mnt/somewhere -o loop

In script all if clauses are conform to syntax if-then-else-fi. You can see it by yourself.
My only guess is that you didn't copy it properly. I have N9 and the script is working perfectly fine...

Other programs also starting faster.
But on the video I ran libreoffice before so n900 loaded it from ram - with reseted swap libreoffice starting in ~17seconds.
