Re: Screenshots from the command line

I have not installed in on my N900, but have it on my desktop. You could probably use

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

No, as the device with stock libs is missing libstc++ and libgcc1 used during buildtime so you'll have unresolved symbols. Of course you can copy those libs and then the application will run.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

If you compile (and you will want to) thumb binaries with gcc 4.7.2 (or whatever version different from stock), you'll also need libstdc++ and libgcc1 that come with the toolchain.

Why I say...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

My understanding is that CSSU-Thumb is required to run Thumb2 ISA applications. On addition to that, you must be using a kernel that works around the hardware errata. You can either pre-install KP 52...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] CSSU-thumb thread - stable Thumb2 on N900

I think the question is if you can install a thumb compiled app without having cssu-thumb, just KP. I would think from what I know that it should be ok but I am not sure. I don't think there's harm...

Re: q: PC USB mode faster than acess via N900 xterm?

The question is: what is faster? USB or the MMC interface?

I guess it depends on lots of factors, but probably the interface speed is about the same. So it comes down to which computer (N900 vs...

Re: q: PC USB mode faster than acess via N900 xterm?

Well, I assume your computer is way faster than the N900, so copying/caching/etc. will be (much) faster when using the PC.

After all, there's no reason why the N900 should be faster, just because...

Re: [Solved] /dev/mmcblk* missing when in /sbin/preinit?

@bozoid,

Thanks for your findings!

I haven't investigated this yet, but I think the /dev/mmcblk* devices are created by udev, which is started in /etc/init.d/rcS, which is the first script run...

Re: [Announce] Yappari - A WhatsApp client for the N900 ONLY - v0.0.25

Re: /dev/mmcblk* missing when in /sbin/preinit?

You need to insmod the OMAP HSMMC drivers and the filesystem drivers yourself.

I don't have the list with me right now, but you can check dependencies in lsmod.
