try this, make a script (say "xvncnohup.sh)":

#!/bin/sh
nohup x11vnc -forever &
/bin/sh

Put this script in /usr/bin
make a desktop file with the line
Exec=osso-xterm "/usr/bin/xvncnohup.sh"

Try enabling -extras and -devel, then update, install and disable them after. You'll be safe, just don't touch other packages while they are enabled.
