Please check twice commands that you execute in terminal.
The N900 can't know what you want from him, if you give it not the right words....

PSX4All 0.3.7 is in the extras-devel.
I completely rewritten input handling layer. Please test it throughly.
The mapping should now work fine.
FPS display is also fixed.

Over-clocking?
No not really. It is quite a bad idea. The CPU already gets really hot as it is..with over clocking you are just asking it to destroy itself. Plus the battery will be drained...
