Might I suggest rather than an acid dip, actually anodizing the aluminum? This would give it a very tough finish that would really add to the look (and prevent oxidation to boot). As a nice...

I would love and probably buy both versions.
And in addition to antenna connectors etc. it ,would be really awesome if you found a way to incorporate a full size usb port into the cover.
