Re: breaking news:nokia partners with microsoft

Maemo/MeeGo was the only reason for me to resist Nokia's stupid decisions and their "We don't care about you, customer." behaviour and looks like now it comes to end with N900. Most important...

Re: breaking news:nokia partners with microsoft

the best thing Nokia can do now is to completely open source everything on the N900 and let the community take over. sigh...can we lobby for this?

From the official press release: "MeeGo becomes an open-source, mobile operating system project"

A "project". Well, so was Maemo. And it had all the official focus that such "projects" have in...

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

"Fake Stephen Elop" tweeted (http://twitter.com/#%21/fakeselop/status/35547100699697152) that "This pic will be our logo after the #elopocalypse (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23elopocalypse)" :)

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

Is anyone here ready to jump the WebOS2.0 ship if the rumour about Nokia turns ot to be true? I know I am, WebOS is the closest one to MeeGo. So I think I...

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

Interesting indeed. How Elop is supposed to convince the entire board to adopt a platform that was defected by their own Symbian? WP7 is not even burning, it is like sinking to the bottom of the sea....

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

Just my 2p worth

1. Drop 900-00 and concentrate all available resources to speed up Meego ?

2. Drop Symbian completely and use resources for Meego ?

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

It always surpises me when people in this forum try to take the "what's best for nokia" point of view... suggesting they should turn to android or whatever OS for business reasons.

why don't you...

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

What Elop is saying does not make sense. Apple made their entire ecosystem from nothing with essentially one single device. They still have one single smartphone.

Android came from nowhere with no...
