Yup using proximity and front cam:)
i was a regular user of handwave and moove on symbian and i really miss flickring through pictures via tv out and silencing calls by just waving the hand :(

Did you mean mediabar (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=68249&highlight=mediabar)? It pops up a quick-access menu upon waving your finger across the proximity sensor.

There was a link to a Youtube video where someone had implemented some sort of air gesture using the proximity sensor.
I've had a route through the lucky dip but can't seem to find it now.
