Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

Aegis, and it's wrong reasons-to-be has (justifiably) created a huge hatred against security frameworks. On the other hand the basis of it's implementation (fine-grained permissions system) not only...

Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

No. Calling it Mer would be factual. Shouting aloud MeeGo is smart marketing. They're riding on the goodwill that N9 generated. And on the disappointment that it wasn't continued.

If they would...

Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

I'd have to say that the separation of developers (meego.org) and users/contributors (talk.maemo.org) was a very bad thing, imho for the N9.

People were rewarded here, talked about their exploits...

Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

I'm part of the Jolla team, though working on Mer Core and I can't really say more than what twitter and press releases say.

Ask me anything about Mer though.

However, I'd like to ask one...

Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

I would rather expect Nokia trying to sink them down. Suggesting, that it's planned move by Nokia, is little bit of disrespect for those brave people, IMO.

Re: Migrating to Community-driven Infrastructure - Step 1: Inventory

I agree in principle, but migrating the data will no doubt be somewhat pain-in-the-***. Might take quite a while until the scripts are bug free to do the migration.

Migrating to Community-driven Infrastructure - Step 1: Inventory

Alright, I think we all are/were more or less aware that sooner or later the day will come at which we need to migrate to a community-driven platform. Most probably the reason for this is that we are...
