Re: [Announce] kernel-power v47

Oi..

Battery temp and voltage get reported differently with this kernel version. This has been known since page 2-3 of this thread. Go annoy the devs of packages that use bq27x00_battery values....

Re: Phone lags when it shouldn't (i think...)

I would try to avoid usage of the app manager of Maemo. It tends to trigger update check and some process named apt-worker might stay in background checking updates and degrade performance of all...

Re: Phone lags when it shouldn't (i think...)

Yes that is correct, however do not try and use smart reflex over 805MHz as it will cause the n900 to reboot.

Re: Phone lags when it shouldn't (i think...)

kernel-power-settings is dependent on kernel-power hence the instruction only to pull the one from the repos. It will install kernel-power as a dependency saving you having to apt-get both of them ;)

Re: Phone lags when it shouldn't (i think...)

Thats the whole idea of changing the settings. Keeping the phone optimised. Permanently.

You may want to look at trackercfg and changing the folders / locations that the tracker process...

Jesus can't you read! Smart Reflex causes reboots NOT lag!

The OP is suffering from LAG issues!

PS. As stated before, Smart Reflex ONLY causes reboots on a small minority of devices and seeing...

Re: Maemo or Android (not a contest of which is better.. pls read)

I'm not sure if you are comfortable with battery-life of n900. Most users reporting charging every day, 2 days is you scarcely use it. But I would guess that would be okay if you're pleased by the...

Multitasking - Go for N900.
Good keyboard - well ehm, there are better physical keyboards on Android devices. N900 keyboard is a bit small, but with practice maybe you can get used to it. Be sure to...

Re: Maemo or Android (not a contest of which is better.. pls read)

People almost always, when they have made up their mind (even when they don't know it) go and ask questions to support their decision. Choosing who they'd ask is a part of the process. That is not...

Re: Maemo or Android (not a contest of which is better.. pls read)

I think it's a design flaw. But if you handle it well and don't loose it on the floor while the USB is...

Re: Maemo or Android (not a contest of which is better.. pls read)

Gentle and USB gentle are 2.
For example I'd prefer no to let my wife handle my N900. Although she claims she is careful- has a habit of moving all kinds of USB plugs in lateral direction to loosen...

Re: Maemo or Android (not a contest of which is better.. pls read)

The binary blob isn't necessary, there is a read-only kernel driver for exFAT and a read-write FUSE driver for exFAT, though the FUSE drive is beta software, however since Maemo already has FUSE...
