Hmm... Where we can download these debs? 'Unsupported Format' message may occur due to wrong ppd or configuration file of your printer. I will test your build of cups with my HP Photosmart D7263...

Just to let you guys know that I have "internally" ( :) ) updated Xournal to mainstream 0.4.5

This fixes above issue with text as well, removes libgnomeprint dependancy (depends now on poppler)...
