* If you need to improve something on core level in Sailfish, you contribute to Mer and follow their processes
* If you need to improve something on handset middleware and toolkits layer...

I'm of the opposite mind. They made people aware that they will continue with MeeGo/Mer and they're courting the developers and made a good deal with the Chinese market.

I believe (from personal standpoint) that Jolla is based on Mer/Nemo, that in turn are based on Meego, so it is mostly about inheritance.

The concept has been proven. Yes, it is possible to create a nice and cool looking desktop user experience with QML.

This is based on w00t's prototype called "lipstick"....

Don't mix PC industry with mobile industry. It's not the same, not even close. The way things are marketed and distributed are very different. I don't thik that anyone here uses 10 years old mobile. ...

These 32gb RAM babies can run build jobs fast (in tmpfs), so it scales to a lot of small packages being built in a short times.

I think the main question is who the security system is trying to protect: the owner of the device, or 3rd parties like the copyright mafia.
