I run them both at the same time on my N800... :)

I use Hybrid VE maps in M/M and run at zoom level 5. It looks like I'm flying over the ground at an altitude of about 1200 ft. I then fire up...

You can't get directions without an internet connection. If you don't have a cellphone data plan, you'll need to download the routes before leaving home. You can't just enter an address at any...

Yes, if you download the maps in maemo mapper and add a bluetooth GPS (or a USB one if you can get it working) then it will work. Combined with Flite it'll even do voice directions.
