You would need to set up a mesh network accessed by both the sending and recieving tablets. This was done recently by contractors working on the Dubai tower using VOIP over WIFI enabled mobile...

Generally in the shell, do "iwlist scan" (or "iwlist wlan0 scan" to avoid messages about unsupported interfaces). It will print out a table of found ESSIDs with all the details.

The command only works if wlan0 is active already (this is different from some other wlan interfaces/drivers for desktop computers). In other words, try the command while you're already connected to...

If you want wi-fi handover it sounds like you _don't_ want to do it the way kismet does it - as you quote: '(.. cannot be) associated with any access point.'

Run "mount" in a terminal and see if the card is truly mounted read-only, if so, then I'd try running a filesystem check on the flash card, the filesystem might be a bit corrupt.
