Why not put filters in the application menu, then? This is a feature used extensively throughout the rest of Maemo.
I just wish the Maemo UI team wasn't so vehement about sticking to their guns...

I have also made a screencast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJLIJwOzwEM) of Belltower in use, in case anyone's interested. I think it shows quite well how easy to use the N900's UI is.
