On the N900 segfaults with the same error.
I watch the second triangle approach sixty, when it's at 58 seconds, I guess that's when the minute flip starts, it fails with the above mentioned...

At this point I'm running with the multiple discreet images approach as it seems to make more sense; that way you can have digits that are different sizes, for example, and not have to worry about...
