Re: Does the n900 work well with T-mobile Prepaid

You could use fAPN to setup additonal APN's to avoid having to change APN info for each connection type. Then you just need to select epc APN for garden, hiptop APN for VPN.

Re: Two extensive previews of N900 prototype

Your cynicism is certainly productive.

. . . and as I've tried to point out, we've been working to ensure that it wont be.

These users are an extreme minority, you make it sound as if...

Re: N900 November

I thin the best course of action is to wait - and dont come and check thread every day or this forum for that matter (as everybody here WITH an N900 is on a NDA and hence nothing new to know and...

Re: N900 November

Yes, the information hasn't been changing, if you look at the original press release. I hope nobody expects us to react/respond to every time some internet site changes some detail date over when...

Re: Two extensive previews of N900 prototype

I knew someone would say that :-) Running my site for 10 years now, each time I wrote a generally positive review of something, I was always accused by someone of being sponsored or bribed by Nokia,...

Re: Grid on Desktop

One solution would be to allow items to be freely draggable, but whenever they approached an same dimensional edge of another item, they would snap to that baseline. In this way, all items could be...

Re: Two extensive previews of N900 prototype

Indeed, I didn't. But that's, as I wrote, because it's *REALLY* hard to judge such things based on an early proto. As others wrote, battery life is usually THE LAST thing to optimize, after eveything...

Re: well respected reviewer "eldar" throwing caution to N900

Okay, let's ask me.

Easy to Reproduce Crashes: I can easily fix those in less than an hour.

Random Crashes: How random? How often? How catastrophic? Depending on your answers and assuming...

Re: My Hands On Experience with N900

Bounce needs a lot of work atm. It doesn't pause at all and accidentally touching the screen (or a hardware button) takes you back to the main menu of the game. So, while this hasn't happened to me...

Re: Is N900 the best smartphone Nokia ever released?

Somehow everybody I know who has a device keeps insisting the screen size isn't an issue, and somehow everybody else keeps insisting it is.

I wonder who's better qualified to judge?

Re: Is the FM transmitter any good in real life?

Can't speak to whether the N900 supports this frequency, but I figured I'd put my radio nerd hat on for a minute. There are two reasons why there are basically no licensed radio stations at 87.9 FM:...

Re: N900 battery life

A personal comment not tied to the N900 only but to all this category of devices that are closer to "little computers that make phone calls" rather than "mobile phones that can also do other things"....

Re: N900 keyboard

Single-shift is definitely a pain -- still after having been using it for a while now. But, overall the N900's keyboard beats out the N810's by a long-shot -- there is no comparison. I still prefer...

Re: N900 Specifications

I tried out the N900 as well.

1. Did not notice vsync tearing, even though I used to want 85+ Hz CRT screens, minimum. Maybe I was lucky and didn't trigger it. The worst I did was load a large...

Re: First N900 Review

A 56% markup isn't too bad. But in the States, you're looking at 162% markup.

That is, an 8GB iPod Touch is $229. An un-subsidized, no-contract-required iPhone 3G 8GB is around $599 (at least...

Re: RX-51 Tablet picture released at Engadget

Right. And my point is that at the time, there was a device that had the features you want at the price you were willing to pay for it. You don't yet know what price RX-51 will sell at, so you can't...

Re: N900 specs revealed

I don't especially want a smartphone -- I want a modern UNIX-like system in my pocket. The best machines I've been able to find so far aren't phones, but if at some point the best one happens to be a...

Re: Idle Speculation

My (admittedly limited) knowledge of what Maemo SW is trying to do with Maemo 5 suggests that Maemo continues to push closer to an OS on which this kind of application can be developed easily and...
