Gtalk still says "incorrect password" 2 out of every 3 connection attempts. It seemed better fora while after I had upgraded to pr1.1, but it's back to being dumb again.

The N9 is much more looking like the N900 at launch than the N900 castrated. Actually, the N9 allready has much more support of things than the N900 had at the same age (and one would expect that).

I have N950 and the latest wk39 update. I often get with Google chat account an error message "Incorrect password". If I click it to get again online it works. Seems kinda 50/50 chance it works.

I can't really comment on that officially, but I would say it is very unlikely that Nokia will provide a jabber account plugin. I would rather expect the community to do that....
