Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

Just a few thoughts... as a N800 owner it's funny to see people freaking out that their device is already obsolete. When Fremantle came out, my old tablet suddenly started getting updates and new...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

What always strikes me odd with these complains about "N900 not getting this and that and soon becoming obsolete" is the attitude, that when you buy a device from a vendor, now suddenly everyone is...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

A quick comment since this obviously also affects the Mer project. MeeGo seems to satisify all of the hopes I had when I wrote the original Maemo Reconstructed proposal.

It has a proper...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

In all honesty, the parts of the project that have been decided without public discussion are the kind of things that would not be discussed publicly anyway by the Maemo or Moblin teams alone. Maemo...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

The MeeGo API is based on Qt and Web Runtime (which sits on top of QtWebKit, which sits on top of Qt). This was/is exactly the API plan for Harmattan (no wonder since MeeGo is a result of merging...

Re: Please vote for bug 5300: Sending files via Bluetooth in Maemo 5

qwerty12 has written a patch, and he has also gone one step further: You can send files via E-mail, in addition to Bluetooth. Not to mention you can actually submit any file to be shared via a...

Re: N900 shipping delayed

Portrait modes, there have been several proposals filed at http://maemo.org/community/brainstorm/ and we have been as clear as possible reflecting the status of current plans. Check them.

Re: This is not another shipping thread!

FOSS does not mean Free and Open marketing...

Also...
This idea, this concept of a (mostly) FOSS mobile computer married to a telephone is so dang unique. It is not a "smart phone" so much as it...

Re: The Nokia N900 v1.2009.41.13 firmware update will be available soon on Nokia Soft

The N900 isn't buggy, but the software it currently runs is still a work-in-progress. There are issues that need to be resolved. If you're looking what those issues are, then visit the bug tracker.

Hi,
I am the project lead for the Eclipse eRCP (http://www.eclipse.org/ercp) project that was mentioned earlier in this thread. Also I work for Nokia as part of the team that develops the Java...
