Re: On the distribution of copyrighted material

That's an absolute crock of crap.

You're looking at this from a purely selfish consumer standpoint. That's fine for you. But some of us have worked hard to build and support a community here, and...

Re: On the distribution of copyrighted material

It's better to describe these as "proprietary home computer rom images" instead of "copyrighted home computer rom images".

Most of the software in the repository is copyrighted, but it's legal to...

Re: Nokia promises N900 will get MeeGo! Or perhaps not.

I don't know anyone with thousands of apps on their phone.

I know a few people with a lot of useless apps on their phone.

I know a lot of people who would love to have the apps I got on my...

Well first I'd ask why you think the bundled map software isn't as good as what you were promised, key word promised. Nokia doesn't owe us anything other than what they promised, just because their...

Re: N900 connected to USB at home 24/7 bad for battery?

Because then people will complain that their battery is not full when they disconnect their device from the charger.

Do what your laptop's instruction manual says: take the battery out when...

Re: Why can't N900 play videos smoothly?

You should rephrase the question to "Why can't N900 play _my_ videos smoothly?" because for many users it plays smoothly. It greatly depends on the codec, resolution, and bitrate, though. If you give...

Re: MeeGo on the N900 - NOKIA: The door is NOT closed

Seriously, that's what Jaaksi, Quim, Peter, Konttori etc. have been saying here all along. They have said it many times, before and after Meego was announced.

Re: Question about non optified application

An update basically is a de-installation of the old version followed by an installtion of the new version. So yes, the non-optified files will be removed and the optified ones will be installed...

Re: Nokia promises N900 will get MeeGo! Or perhaps not.

I'm not trying to defend the approach, but please think about it a little more.

Google's and Apple's (and most of the manufacturers') "new" OSs are just incremental updates. They usually don't...

Re: SIO2 Interactive spamming votes to get his/her applications to Extras

Had this been handled privately, as I believe it should have been, that would simply have been needed be between the Dev and the Extras mods.

It doesn't require public humiliation.

Re: SIO2 Interactive spamming votes to get his/her applications to Extras

But here we are.. 24 pages later.. seriously. Everything that's possible to...
